đ Theme: Anchored in Hope
đ Scripture:
“Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening alreadyâyou can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.” â Isaiah 43:19 (GNTD)
đ Background:
Isaiah speaks to a people weary from exile and longing for restoration. In chapter 43, God reminds them of His power to redeem and renew. Verse 19 is a declaration of divine creativityâGod is not limited by the past. He makes a way where there was none, and He brings life to barren places.
đĄ Devotional:
One October afternoon, I hiked a quiet trail near Cane Creek Falls. The path twisted through thick woods, and suddenly, it opened to a clearing I hadnât seen before. I thought of Isaiah 43:19: âWatch for the new thing I am going to doâŠâ
Sometimes life feels like a wildernessâconfusing, dry, uncertain. But God is always at work, even when we canât see it. He carves roads through chaos and sends streams into our dry seasons. Hope isnât just behind usâitâs ahead. Anchored in His promises, we can trust that new things are already unfolding.
If you feel stuck or weary, lift your eyes. God is doing something new. The road is forming. The water is coming.
đȘ Reflection Questions:
- What âwildernessâ are you walking through right now?
- Where have you seen God make a way in the past?
- What new thing might He be inviting you to watch for today?
đ Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the God of new things.
When I feel lost or dry, remind me that You are making a way.
Help me trust Your timing and see the streams Youâre sending.
Anchor me in hope, and open my eyes to what Youâre doing.
Amen.
đ ïž Application:
Write down one area of your life that feels like a wilderness.
Beside it, write: âGod is making a way.â
Each time doubt rises this week, speak that truth aloud and ask Him to help you see the new thing.
đ Takeaway:
God is already at workâmaking roads and sending streams.
Anchored in hope, we trust that the new thing is unfolding.
