🎄 December Theme: The Journey to the Manger
Final Day
📖 Scripture
Matthew 28:18–20 (NIV)
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them… and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”
📚 Background
These verses are known as the Great Commission, Jesus’ final instruction to His disciples before His ascension. According to biblical teaching, this command is the foundation of Christian mission and discipleship. Jesus declares His authority, sends His followers to all nations, and promises His continual presence.
As we close The Journey to the Manger, we remember that the story of Jesus’ birth does not end at the manger. The Child who came to save the world grew, taught, died, rose again, and now sends His people to share the good news with all humankind.
💬 Devotional
The manger leads to the mountain.
The same Jesus who entered the world in humility now stands in resurrection glory, declaring that all authority belongs to Him. The baby wrapped in cloths is now the risen King who commissions His followers to carry His message to the ends of the earth.
“Go and make disciples…”
This is not a suggestion—it is a calling rooted in the very purpose of Jesus’ birth. He came so that all people might know God, receive salvation, and walk in new life. The birth of Jesus is good news for the whole world, and the Great Commission is the invitation to share that news.
As we end our Journey to the Manger, we are reminded that Christmas is not only a celebration—it is a commissioning. The Savior has come. The Redeemer has risen. And now He sends us to proclaim hope, light, and salvation to every corner of the earth.
The manger was the beginning. The mission continues through us.
