Align My Desires

✨ January Theme: Set My Course

🕊️ Welcome Moment

As you step into a new day, imagine your heart as a compass—always pointing somewhere, always pulled by something. Desires shape direction. Longings influence choices. What you love ultimately guides where you walk.

Psalm 86:11 invites you into a sacred recalibration:
“Lord, align my desires with Yours.”

Today, let your heart lean toward the One who leads you in truth.

📖 Scripture Immersion

Psalm 86:11 (NIV)
“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”

Read it slowly—like a prayer your soul already knows how to pray.

🌄 Snapshot

Picture a sailor navigating open waters. The sky is clear, the sea calm, but his compass is slightly off—just a few degrees. At first, it seems insignificant. But over time, that small misalignment leads him miles away from his intended destination.

When he finally realizes the drift, he adjusts the compass back to true north. Only then does the ship return to its rightful course.

This is the spiritual journey.
Our desires—if left unchecked—can drift.
But when God aligns our hearts, our course becomes clear again.

🔍 Deep Dive

“Teach me Your way, Lord…”
This is a posture of humility. You’re asking God to shape your understanding, your habits, your decisions. You’re choosing His wisdom over your instincts.

“…that I may rely on Your faithfulness…”
When you learn God’s way, you learn to trust His character. His faithfulness becomes your anchor, your stability, your confidence.

“Give me an undivided heart…”
An undivided heart is a focused heart—one not pulled in competing directions. It is whole, centered, steady.
It wants what God wants.
It loves what God loves.
It follows where God leads.

“…that I may fear Your name.”
This is reverence, awe, and joyful surrender.
It’s living with God at the center—not the edges—of your life.

As you Set Your Course this January, remember:
Alignment precedes direction.
Desire shapes destiny.
