The God Who Sees You

📿 Forty Steps with Jesus: Walking the Road to the Cross

🕊️ Welcome Moment

There is a deep comfort in being fully known—yet also a quiet fear. What if someone saw everything: the thoughts you never speak, the worries you hide, the moments you wish you could erase? Psalm 139 reminds us that God sees all of it… and does not turn away.

As you walk these Forty Steps with Jesus, today’s passage invites you to rest in the truth that God sees you completely and loves you faithfully. You are never hidden, never overlooked, never lost.

📖 Scripture Immersion

Psalm 139:1–12 (NIV)
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me… You hem me in behind and before… Even the darkness will not be dark to you.”

Read slowly. Let each phrase remind you of God’s nearness.

🌄 Snapshot

Imagine walking into a dimly lit room with a lantern in your hand. At first, everything feels shadowed and uncertain. But as the lantern glows, corners soften, shapes become clear, and what once felt intimidating becomes familiar.

This is what God’s presence does.
He brings light into the places you fear.
He sees what you cannot articulate.
He understands what you cannot explain.

And He stays.

🔍 Deep Dive

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.”
God’s knowledge of you is not distant—it is intimate.
He knows your rhythms, your fears, your longings, your thoughts.

“You perceive my thoughts from afar.”
Before a word forms on your tongue, He understands it.
You never have to perform for Him.

“You hem me in behind and before.”
God surrounds you with His presence.
You are held, protected, and guided.

“Where can I go from your Spirit?”
There is no place—high or low, bright or dark—where God is absent.
Your loneliness is never the whole story.

“Even the darkness will not be dark to you.”
What feels overwhelming to you is not overwhelming to Him.
He sees clearly.
He moves toward you, not away.

As you walk toward the cross with Jesus, remember:
You are fully seen, deeply known, and completely loved.
