šæ Forty Steps with Jesus: Walking the Road to the Cross
šļø Welcome Moment
Jesus begins His public teaching not with commands, but with blessings. Not with demands, but with promises. On a quiet hillside, He looks into the eyes of ordinary peopleātired, grieving, overlooked, hungry for righteousnessāand He calls them blessed.
As you walk these Forty Steps with Jesus, todayās passage invites you to hear His blessings spoken over your own life. These are not rewards for the strongāthey are gifts for the surrendered.
š Scripture Immersion
Matthew 5:1ā12 (NIV)
āBlessed are the poor in spirit⦠Blessed are those who mourn⦠Blessed are the meek⦠Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousnessā¦ā
Read slowly. Let each blessing rest on you like a gentle covering.
š Snapshot
Imagine sitting on a grassy hillside as the morning sun warms the earth. People gather around Jesusāfarmers, fishermen, widows, children, the weary, the hopeful. No one expects what happens next.
Jesus begins to speak, and His words fall like rain on dry ground.
He blesses the broken.
He blesses the grieving.
He blesses the gentle, the hungry, the merciful, the pure, the peacemakers, the persecuted.
He blesses the very people the world overlooks.
And in doing so, He reveals the upsideādown beauty of His kingdom.
