✨ January Theme: Set My Course
🕊️ Welcome Moment
As you step into a new year, imagine standing at the edge of a vast landscape—your path stretching forward into places you’ve never walked. Some parts look bright and inviting. Others feel shadowed, uncertain, unmarked.
Before you take a single step, God speaks into the quiet:
“You are not walking into this alone. I go before you.”
Today, let your heart settle into the truth that the One who leads you has already walked ahead of you.
📖 Scripture Immersion
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Read it slowly—like a promise placed gently into your hands.
🌄 Snapshot
Picture a traveler preparing to cross a rugged mountain pass. The terrain is unfamiliar, the weather unpredictable. But before the traveler begins, a seasoned guide steps forward.
“I’ve already walked this route,” the guide says.
“I know every turn, every danger, every shelter, every safe place. Follow me—you won’t walk alone.”
Suddenly the journey feels different. Not easier, but safer. Not predictable, but purposeful.
This is the heart of Deuteronomy 31:8. God is not only with you—He goes before you.
🔍 Deep Dive
“The Lord Himself…”
Not an angel. Not a representative.
God Himself leads your way. His presence is personal, intentional, and deeply invested in your journey.
“…goes before you…”
Before you enter a new season, God has already stepped into it.
Before you face a challenge, He has already prepared provision.
Before you encounter uncertainty, He has already secured your footing.
“…and will be with you…”
He is both ahead of you and beside you.
He prepares the path and walks it with you.
“…He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
This is covenant language—unbreakable, unwavering, eternal.
Your course is not set by chance but by a faithful God.
“Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Fear loses its grip when you know who leads you.
Discouragement fades when you remember you are never alone.
As you Set Your Course for this year, let this truth anchor you:
You are following a God who has already prepared the way.
