Matthew 25:1–13 “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom…”
Imagine the quiet anticipation of that night—the flicker of lamps, the whisper of footsteps, the long hours of waiting. Some grew weary and unprepared; others stayed ready, their oil replenished, their hearts alert. The difference was not in their invitation, but in their preparation.
Snapshot
A young woman kept a candle burning in her window every evening, waiting for her husband’s return from deployment. Some nights the flame flickered low, but she always refilled the oil and trimmed the wick. When he finally came home, the light guided him to her door.
Faithfulness is not measured by how quickly the promise arrives, but by how steadfastly we keep the flame alive.
