Scripture Immersion
1 Corinthians 4:7 reminds us that everything we have is received from God. Pride fades when we remember that we are stewards of His gifts, not owners. In Luke 5:37–38, Jesus says, “No one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins.”
The new wine of Christ’s Spirit requires hearts that are supple and surrendered—willing to stretch and grow with His transforming love.
Snapshot
A potter kneads clay before shaping it. The clay must be soft enough to yield under his hands. If it hardens, it cracks. But when pliable, it becomes something beautiful—a vessel for purpose.
Our hearts are like that clay. When we allow Christ to work within us, He molds us into vessels of grace. But when we resist His touch, we remain brittle, unable to hold the new wine of His Spirit.

New wine represents the life of the Spirit—fresh, vibrant, and transformative. Old wineskins symbolize the rigid patterns of self‑reliance and pride. To receive Christ’s renewal, we must let go of the old—our comfort, our control, our certainty—and allow Him to stretch us into something new.
