Whoever Has Seen Me Has Seen the Father

Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily

Welcome Moment

There are moments in Scripture when Jesus pulls back the veil and reveals something breathtaking about God’s heart. John 14:9 is one of those moments. In a single sentence, Jesus tells us that if we want to know what God is like, we need only look at Him.

As we continue our May theme, Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily, today’s devotional invites you to rest in the truth that Jesus is the perfect revelation of the Father — gentle, faithful, compassionate, and near.

Scripture Immersion

John 14:9 “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”

Read it slowly. Let the simplicity and depth of Jesus’ words settle into your spirit.

Snapshot

Imagine standing in a dimly lit room. You can see shapes, outlines, hints of what’s around you — but not clearly. Then someone opens a window, and sunlight pours in. Suddenly everything becomes visible. What was once shadowed is now illuminated.

Jesus is that light.

He doesn’t just talk about the Father. He reveals Him. He embodies Him. He brings the Father’s heart into full clarity.

When you watch Jesus welcome the weary, you see the Father. When you hear Jesus speak peace, you hear the Father. When you witness Jesus heal, forgive, restore, and love — you witness the Father’s very nature.

To see Jesus is to see God’s heart unveiled.

Deep Dive

“Anyone who has seen me…” Jesus is not distant or abstract. He is God made visible, knowable, approachable.

“…has seen the Father.” This is the heart of the gospel: God is not hiding. He is not far away. He is not unknowable. He has come close in Christ.

To abide in Jesus is to abide in the Father’s love. To live the Easter life daily is to walk in the light of who God truly is — revealed perfectly in His Son.

As you walk through this month, remember: If you want to know what God is like, look at Jesus — and let His life shape your own.
