Called and Sent: Following Christ Day by Day
Welcome Moment
Faith is a living story—rooted in ancient truth yet unfolding anew each day. Jesus reminds us that those who follow Him bring forth treasures both old and new, drawing from the deep well of God’s wisdom while embracing the fresh work of His Spirit.
Today’s devotional invites you to walk in the Spirit by cherishing the timeless and welcoming the new—seeing how God’s Word continues to reveal beauty in every season.
Scripture Immersion
Matthew 13:52 “Every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”
Pause and reflect. The Kingdom is not static—it grows, renews, and transforms. God’s truth is ancient yet ever‑alive.
Snapshot
Imagine an old chest tucked away in a quiet attic. Inside are heirlooms—letters, photographs, and keepsakes passed down through generations. Each piece tells a story, connecting past and present.
Now imagine adding something new—a journal, a prayer, a moment of grace from today. The chest becomes a living testimony of faith that endures and evolves.
So it is with the Kingdom of God. The treasures of Scripture and tradition meet the fresh revelations of the Spirit. Together, they form a harmony that keeps our hearts alive and our faith vibrant.
Deep Dive
“Brings out of his treasure…” The treasure is the Word of God—ancient, enduring, and rich. Those trained in the Kingdom learn to draw from it continually, finding wisdom for every moment.
“…what is new and what is old.” God’s truth never changes, but our understanding deepens. The Spirit breathes new life into familiar words, turning knowledge into revelation.
Walking in the Spirit means honoring the old paths while embracing the new ways God leads us. Faith is not nostalgia—it’s renewal rooted in remembrance.
