Called and Sent: Following Christ Day by Day
Welcome Moment
There is a quiet peace that comes when we remember who leads us. The world may rush and roar, but the Shepherd’s voice is steady—guiding, guarding, and providing.
Today’s devotional invites you to walk in the Spirit by resting in the Shepherd’s care, trusting that every step is watched over by love.
Scripture Immersion
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Pause and breathe. Let these words settle deep within you. They are not just poetry—they are promise. You are not alone. You are led.
Snapshot
Picture a shepherd at dawn, walking the hills with a staff in hand. The sheep stir as his voice calls them by name. He knows each one—their strengths, their fears, their wandering tendencies.
When danger comes, he stands between them and harm. When one strays, he leaves the ninety‑nine to find it.
So it is with Christ. He knows your name, your path, your heart. His guidance is not distant—it’s personal. His care is not conditional—it’s constant.
The Shepherd’s presence transforms scarcity into sufficiency. In His care, you lack nothing that truly matters.
Deep Dive
“The Lord is my shepherd…” This is not a metaphor of distance—it’s intimacy. The Shepherd walks with His flock, not ahead or behind, but beside.
“…I shall not want.” Want here means lack. In God’s presence, every need finds its source. He provides rest for the weary, peace for the anxious, and direction for the lost.
Walking in the Spirit means trusting the Shepherd’s pace—slow enough to notice grace, steady enough to follow faithfully.
