Today’s devotional invites you to walk in the Spirit by listening for the voice that calls you personally, tenderly, and purposefully.
Scripture Immersion
John 20:16 “Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbouni!’ (which means Teacher).”
Pause and imagine the garden at dawn. The air is cool, the tomb stands empty, and tears blur Mary’s eyes. Then—her name. Spoken by the One she thought was gone. Everything changes.
Snapshot
Mary Magdalene stands in the garden, heart heavy with loss. She mistakes Jesus for the gardener until He speaks her name. That single word—Mary—restores her hope, her identity, her mission.
In that moment, the resurrection becomes personal. The Savior of the world meets her in her grief and calls her into joy.
So it is with us. Christ’s call is not distant or generic—it is intimate. He speaks your name not to remind you of who you were, but to reveal who you are becoming in Him.
Deep Dive
“Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’” The risen Christ doesn’t begin with explanation—He begins with relationship. His voice carries recognition, belonging, and love.
“She turned…” Turning is the movement of transformation. When we hear His voice, we turn from despair to hope, from confusion to clarity.
“Rabbouni!” Her response is worship. The encounter moves her from mourning to mission. She becomes the first witness of resurrection—the one sent to proclaim life.
Walking in the Spirit means living attentive to the voice that calls us by name, even in the ordinary moments of our days.
