Living the Kingdom: Faithful Every Day
Welcome Moment
We live in a world that measures worth by what we can hold, own, or display. Yet Jesus invites us to a different kind of wealth—one that cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed.
Today’s devotional calls you to walk in the Spirit by storing your treasure where eternity keeps it safe—in the heart of God.
Scripture Immersion
Matthew 6:20 “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
Imagine Jesus speaking these words on a hillside, His eyes lifted toward the heavens. He reminds His followers that true riches are not measured in gold, but in grace.
Snapshot
A man spent years collecting rare coins, each one polished and protected. When a fire swept through his home, the collection was gone. Yet in the ashes, he found a letter from his daughter thanking him for teaching her kindness and faith.
He realized then—his greatest treasure had never been in the coins, but in the love he had passed on.
Deep Dive
“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…” Heavenly treasure is built through acts of love, mercy, and faithfulness. Every prayer whispered, every kindness offered, every sacrifice made for Christ becomes eternal currency.
“…where neither moth nor rust destroys…” Earthly things fade, but spiritual investments endure. When we give generously, forgive freely, and serve humbly, we participate in God’s everlasting economy.
Walking in the Spirit means living with open hands—holding loosely to what fades and clinging tightly to what lasts.
