Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily
Welcome Moment
There are moments when you wonder if the path ahead is truly open — when obstacles feel immovable, opportunities seem distant, or your strength feels small. Acts 14:27 reminds you that God is the One who opens doors, and when He opens them, no one can shut them.
As we continue our May theme, Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily, today’s devotional invites you to trust that God is at work even when you cannot yet see the way forward.
Scripture Immersion
Acts 14:27 “They reported all that God had done with them and how he had opened a door of faith for the Gentiles.”
Read it slowly. Let the phrase “God had opened a door” settle into your spirit.
Snapshot
Imagine standing before a heavy wooden door — thick, ancient, impossible to move. You push, strain, and try every angle, but it will not budge. Then someone steps beside you, places a hand on the door, and with effortless strength swings it wide open.
This is what God does.
Where you see barriers, He sees beginnings. Where you see impossibility, He sees invitation. Where you see a closed door, He sees a doorway for His glory.
Paul and Barnabas didn’t force open the door of faith for the Gentiles. God opened it — and they simply walked through.
Deep Dive
“They reported all that God had done…” The story is God’s from beginning to end. Your life, your calling, your opportunities — all flow from His hand.
“…and how he had opened a door…” God opens doors in His timing, His way, and for His purposes. No opposition, no circumstance, no human resistance can close what He opens.
“…of faith for the Gentiles.” The door God opened was bigger than they imagined — wider, deeper, more expansive. God’s plans often exceed your expectations.
To abide in Jesus is to trust that He is opening doors even when you cannot yet see them — and to walk through them with courage when they appear.
As you walk through this month, remember: God is the One who opens doors, and His openings are always purposeful, timely, and filled with grace.

Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the One who opens doors no one can shut. Help me trust Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your leading. Open the doors that align with Your will, and close the ones that are not meant for me. Give me courage to walk through the doors You set before me and faith to abide in Your guiding presence. Amen.
