Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily
Welcome Moment
Hardships have a way of catching us off guard. They test our endurance, stretch our faith, and expose the places where we feel weak. Yet Scripture never hides the reality of trials — nor does it leave us without hope. Acts 14:22 reminds us that strength is not found in avoiding hardship but in meeting it with Christ beside us.
As we continue our May theme, Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily, today’s devotional invites you to see trials not as signs of God’s absence but as places where His strength becomes your own.
Scripture Immersion
Acts 14:22 “It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.”
Read it slowly. Let the weight and the promise settle into your heart.
Snapshot
Imagine a long mountain trail — steep, rocky, and demanding. At times your legs burn, your breath shortens, and you wonder if you can keep going. But then you notice something: every step makes you stronger. Every challenge builds endurance. Every stretch of the path shapes you into someone who can climb higher.
This is the spiritual journey.
Hardships are not detours. They are training grounds. They form resilience, deepen trust, and anchor your heart in Christ.
Paul and Barnabas didn’t sugarcoat the path of discipleship. They encouraged believers by telling the truth: the journey is hard, but God strengthens you through every step.
Deep Dive
“Strengthening the souls of the disciples…” Before speaking of hardship, Paul and Barnabas strengthen the believers. God never calls you to endure without first equipping you.
“…encouraging them to continue in the faith…” Faith is not a one‑time decision; it is a daily perseverance. Encouragement fuels endurance.
“…saying, ‘It is through many persecutions…’” Hardship is not a sign of failure. It is part of the journey of following Jesus.
“…that we must enter the kingdom of God.” The kingdom is not reached by ease but by faithfulness. And Christ walks every step with you.
To abide in Jesus is to discover that hardship does not weaken you — it strengthens you, shapes you, and draws you deeper into His life.
As you walk through this month, remember: God does not waste your hardships. He uses them to strengthen your soul and deepen your faith.
