Walk in the Spirit: Living Faith in Ordinary Time
Welcome Moment
Worry has a way of pulling us into tomorrow — into what‑ifs, unknowns, and imagined outcomes. But Jesus calls us back to the present moment, the place where His grace actually meets us. Matthew 6:34 is a tender reminder that God gives strength for today, not for the days we haven’t lived yet.
As we continue our June theme, Walk in the Spirit: Living Faith in Ordinary Time, today’s devotional invites you to rest in the sufficiency of God’s daily grace.
Scripture Immersion
Matthew 6:34 “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Read it slowly. Let Jesus’ calm assurance settle into your spirit.
Snapshot
Imagine standing at the edge of a forest trail. You can only see the next few steps — the path beyond is hidden by trees and morning mist. You might wish you could see the entire route, but the trail reveals itself only as you walk.
This is how God often leads us.
He gives light for the next step, not the whole journey. He gives grace for today, not tomorrow’s imagined burdens. He invites you to trust Him moment by moment, breath by breath.
The Spirit walks with you in the present — not in the fears of tomorrow.
Deep Dive
“Do not worry about tomorrow…” Jesus isn’t dismissing your concerns. He’s redirecting your focus. Worry pulls you into a day God hasn’t given you yet.
“…for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Tomorrow has its own grace, its own strength, its own provision. You don’t need to carry it now.
“Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Jesus acknowledges reality — life has challenges. But He also promises presence. The Spirit meets you in today’s needs with today’s grace.
Walking in the Spirit means trusting that God is already in your tomorrow and fully present in your today.
As you move through Ordinary Time, remember: Grace is given daily, like manna — enough for right now.
