Faithful in Every Season: Trusting God and Living with Courage

Welcome Moment

Love is not a theory—it’s a movement. In a world that often divides, Jesus calls us to cross boundaries and meet others with compassion. The parable of the Good Samaritan reminds us that faith without love in action is incomplete.

Today, we open our hearts to the courage of love that sees, stops, and serves.

Scripture Immersion

Luke 10:37 — “Go and do likewise.” Galatians 1:10 — “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? … If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Love that pleases God is not passive—it moves toward need, even when inconvenient. True faith is lived in motion.

Snapshot

A man hurries down a busy street, earbuds in, eyes fixed ahead. He nearly misses the woman struggling to lift her groceries from the curb. Something in his heart whispers, “Stop.”

He hesitates—then turns back. In that small act, the rhythm of heaven breaks into the ordinary.

Love begins when we notice. It grows when we act.

Deep Dive

Paul reminds the Galatians that the gospel is not shaped by human approval but by divine truth. The same courage that defends truth empowers compassion. When we serve others, we reflect the heart of Christ—the One who crossed every barrier to reach us.

The Samaritan’s love was costly. He gave time, resources, and care to a stranger who might never repay him. That’s the kind of love Jesus calls us to embody—a love that risks comfort for the sake of mercy.

To “go and do likewise” means to live with eyes open and hands ready. It’s surrendering our schedules to God’s interruptions and letting love become the fruit of faith.

Pilgrimage Practice

  • Morning Prayer: “Lord, help me see others through Your eyes today.”
  • Faith Step: Choose one act of kindness that costs you something—time, comfort, or convenience.
  • Act of Reflection: Write down one moment this week when love required courage.
  • Evening Gratitude: Thank God for the people who have shown you mercy when you least deserved it.

Closing Prayer

Merciful Savior, Teach me to love as You love— to see beyond boundaries, to serve without hesitation, and to give without expecting return. Let my faith bear fruit through compassion, and may my life reflect Your courage and grace. Amen.
