Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily
Welcome Moment
There is a love that does not waver with circumstances, shift with emotions, or fade with time. Jesus invites us into that love — not as visitors, but as those who remain. John 15:9 is a tender call to stay close, to dwell deeply, and to root our lives in the love that flows from His heart.
As we continue our May theme, Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily, today’s devotional invites you to rest in the truth that Jesus’ love is not something you earn — it is something you stay in.
Scripture Immersion
John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”
Read it slowly. Let each phrase wash over you like a steady, reassuring embrace.
Snapshot
Picture a vine wrapped securely around a trellis. The vine doesn’t cling out of fear — it clings because the trellis gives it strength, direction, and support. As long as it remains connected, it grows. It thrives. It bears fruit.
But if it pulls away, it withers.
Your heart is like that vine. Jesus is the One who holds you steady. His love is the trellis that supports your growth, your peace, your identity, your purpose.
Remaining in His love is not about trying harder — it’s about staying connected to the One who already loves you completely.
Deep Dive
“As the Father has loved me…” This is eternal, unbroken, perfect love — the love shared within the Trinity.
“…so have I loved you.” Jesus loves you with the same depth, strength, and purity that the Father loves Him. This is not symbolic. It is literal.
“Now remain in my love.” Remain means: Stay. Abide. Rest. Return. Root yourself in what is already true.
Remaining in His love looks like:
- Trusting His heart when life feels uncertain
- Returning to Him when you feel weary
- Receiving His grace instead of striving for approval
- Letting His words shape your identity
- Allowing His presence to steady your emotions
As you walk through this month, remember: You are not asked to earn Jesus’ love — only to remain in it.
