My Peace I Give You

Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily

Welcome Moment

There is a peace the world offers — fragile, temporary, easily shaken. And then there is the peace Jesus gives — steady, enduring, rooted in His presence rather than our circumstances. John 14:27 is Jesus’ gift to troubled hearts, spoken on the edge of uncertainty yet overflowing with assurance.

As we continue our May theme, Abide in Him: Living the Easter Life Daily, today’s devotional invites you to rest in the peace that flows from the risen Christ — a peace that holds you even when life feels unsteady.

Scripture Immersion

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Read it slowly. Let each phrase settle like a calming breath.

Snapshot

Imagine standing on a shoreline during early morning. The waves roll in gently, the sky soft with light, the air cool and quiet. Even though the ocean is vast and powerful, there is a deep stillness in that moment — a peace that doesn’t depend on the absence of movement, but on the presence of something greater.

This is the kind of peace Jesus gives.

Not the peace of perfect circumstances. Not the peace of everything going your way. Not the peace of control.

His peace is presence. His peace is nearness. His peace is Himself.

It is the peace that held Him steady in storms, in crowds, in suffering, in the garden, and at the cross. And He gives that peace to you.

Deep Dive

“Peace I leave with you…” Jesus doesn’t leave us empty‑handed. His departure becomes the doorway to deeper peace.

“…my peace I give you.” Not a lesser peace. Not a symbolic peace. His peace — the very peace that sustained Him.

“I do not give to you as the world gives.” The world’s peace is conditional. Jesus’ peace is constant.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled…” This is not a command to suppress emotion. It is an invitation to shift your focus — from fear to trust, from chaos to Christ.

“…and do not be afraid.” Fear loses its grip when your heart rests in the One who holds all things.

To abide in Jesus is to let His peace become the atmosphere of your soul.

As you walk through this month, remember: Peace is not found in what changes — but in the One who never does.

  • Peace Whisper: Pray throughout the day, “Jesus, fill me with Your peace.”
  • Breath Prayer: Inhale slowly: “Your peace…” Exhale gently: “…is with me.”
  • Stillness Moment: Sit quietly for two minutes, imagining His peace settling over your heart.
  • Walking Meditation: As you walk, notice moments of calm — a quiet breeze, birdsong, morning light. Let each one remind you of His nearness.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, thank You for giving me Your peace — steady, deep, and unshakable. Calm the places in me that feel troubled or afraid. Help me abide in Your presence and trust Your heart in every circumstance. Let Your peace guard my mind, settle my spirit, and guide my steps today. Amen.
